Softball has decended upon the Tri-Cities, and with it come lots of tourist dollars to be spent here fueling our local economy. The Tri-Cities has become a desert mecca for players and tournaments due to the wonderful sunny weather and the availability of playing fields in Kennewick, Richland and Pasco, including Dust Devil Stadium.
The Tri-Cities was awarded the Outstanding Parks Award in 2008 from the National Softball Association. The number of great quality fields we have here in the Tri-Cities makes for a tourament haven for players all around the Pacific Northwest.
The outstanding sunny weather and availability of hotel rooms allows for more and more players and their families to attend, and the prediction for 2011 will be that the number will increase tremendously.
Keep your eyes to the sky folks and watch for those softball teams to bring more fun to Kennewick, Pasco and Richland…..outdoor sports bring more visitors and maybe eventually, more new Tri-Citians to join us here in our desert paradise!!
